Personal Data
Ultra Zoom does not collect your browsing history, the pages you visit, or the images you view. None of that leaves your browser. The only personal data the extension ever sends is for Pro: the email address you enter and a random device ID, used to check your licence, as described under License Validation below.
Zoom Rules Download
About once a week, every installation downloads a small pack of community zoom rules from api.ultrazoom.app: patterns that turn a site’s thumbnail address into its full-size one. That request carries no email, identifier, or browsing data. Pro installs also download an extended pack, and that request includes your licence email so the server can confirm the licence.
Settings Storage
Your extension preferences (zoom level, settings, etc.) are stored locally on your device using the browser's built-in Web Extensions Storage API. This data never leaves your browser and is not transmitted to any server.
License Validation
Your Pro licence is tied to your email address. When you activate Pro or start the free trial, and then once a day while Pro is active, the extension sends that email address and a random device identifier (generated on your device at install, and not linked to anything else) to our validation server (api.ultrazoom.app) to check your subscription. We use them only for that, never for marketing, and never sell or share them. No browsing history or page content is included. Free users who never activate Pro or start a trial never send either. The server is hosted on Cloudflare Workers.
Payment Processing
Pro subscriptions are processed through Stripe. Your email address may be used by Stripe for payment-related communications. We do not store or have access to your full payment details. All billing information is handled directly by Stripe.
Permissions
When you install Ultra Zoom, your browser warns that it can “read and change all your data on all websites.” That is because its hover script runs on every page you visit: it has to, to find the image under your cursor and draw the zoom over it. The script reads image and video addresses on the page you are viewing. It does not send page content, image data, browsing history or any identifier anywhere.
A second, broader permission, to fetch images from other domains, is optional. It is requested the first time you use a feature that has to read cross-origin pixel data — Copy Image and Enhance (both free), Save Image (Pro), or high-resolution probing. You can decline it and keep using everything else. Whether you grant it or not, the content scripts run locally in your browser and send no page content, image data, or browsing information to any server.
Website Analytics
The ultrazoom.app website logs page visits and clicks for statistical purposes. Visitor language and timezone information may be transmitted anonymously to our servers to help us understand how people use the site.
Advertising Measurement
When we run ads on Reddit, the ultrazoom.app website loads the Reddit Pixel to measure the effectiveness of those campaigns. The pixel reports aggregate events such as page visits, add-to-cart, leads, and purchases back to Reddit so we can understand which ads drive installs. No browsing history from other sites and no content from the Ultra Zoom extension is shared. You can opt out of personalized advertising in your Reddit account settings or via your browser's tracking-protection controls.
